From the perspective of a district administrator, Standards Plus is a program that provides instruction, accountability, and integration of standards. Through consistent and district-wide implementation, we can assure that students across our elementary schools have been provided a program that is comprehensive and ensures equity in curriculum.

I love Standards Plus! As an Intervention Specialist and Literacy Coach my teachers frequently come to me for ideas that will help as we move into the new statewide CCSS implementation. Standards Plus has it all – detailed lesson guides, performance tasks, rubrics, as well as pre and post tests to check the students mastery of the standards. My teachers depend on Standards Plus as a guide to help them check that students are mastering the CCSS standards and re-teach students that has not met mastery on these skills. Throughout this transition into CCSS Standards Plus has been there when we need it offering simple teacher directed instructional lessons, assessments, rubrics and a guide we can depend on so our students are getting what they need. My teachers have also enthusiastically told me the assessments helped them with the new CCSS based report cards our district rolled out this year! Our school also ordered the Standards Plus Intervention Materials. We have used that for re-teaching in small groups, after-school intervention groups, English Learner Support groups (designed for students who are second language learners who are struggling in English) and Intervention groups during the school day. I love these additional materials because the offer additional lessons and re-teaching guidance to help all students (even struggling students) obtain mastery. Many of the students we taught the Intervention portion to really took off academically. Several are on the Honor Roll as 6th and 7th graders and when the students asked believe Standards Plus Intervention /Re-Teach was the reason.
Standards Plus is the best thing that has happened to my school! Everyone agrees Standards Plus is the simple-to-use missing piece that helped guide all our students to better learning.
Our teachers demand it and our students are grateful to the focused learning they get out of Standards Plus lessons. We seriously cannot go without it.
Thank you Standards Plus for making such a focused well designed, easy to teach program that keeps our teachers and students focused on the CCSS standards.

The teachers are excited about the direction the materials will give them and I heard some say the lessons are exactly what they were looking for.PrincipalEtiwanda SD
Navigator Schools has been using Standards Plus successfully for two years. It has been an invaluable resource during the transition to Common Core. The lessons are rigorous and at the same time easily delivered. We appreciate the scripted format and the various strategies that make up a well-rounded lesson. Standards Plus has taken much of the tedious work out of understanding and presenting the new standards. The lessons give new teachers an excellent starting point for planning and design, and provide more experienced teachers with Common Core aligned lessons and activities that can be seamlessly worked into an existing pacing and curriculum.Curriculum CoordinatorNavigator Schools
Teachers feel that the implementation of Standards Plus has contributed to our student growth and proficiency from 25% at the start of the year to 45% growth at the end of the year. The program is aligned to the rigorous requirements of the Nevada Academic Content Standards for Math and ELA. This year teachers are pleased to learn that our school will continue implementing the program.Learning StrategistClark County School District Elementary School
I used the ELA and Math Standards Plus to supplement Reading Street and Envision, since the old curriculum did not have any of the new 6th grade common core standards, especially the Envision Math.I found the ELA very helpful in teaching writing, especially 6th grade argumentative writing. It provides step-by-step lessons, outlines and graphic organizers that are much more advanced and specific than the Reading Street. I shared them with other 6th grade teachers and they convinced their principals to purchase the curriculum. They thought that the writing lessons were especially valuable. There were also other helpful lessons on grammar and other types of writing.
I found the Math curriculum very advanced, however, it included many of the new math standards and the lessons included many “real-world” problems that helped the 6th graders understand advanced topics such as algebraic expressions and equations and statistics. I used many of the math assessments and it helped to prepare them greatly for the free response questions on the SBAC Math test. There are also performance assessments on there as well at the end of each domain/topic, which was great as an extension activity for the proficient/advanced students.
I would definitely use them both again!

The 140 teachers using Standards Plus Intervention in our district program are very happy with the materials. We also appreciate all of the attention Standards Plus has given our district over the years. Our students will be the ones who benefit.

Standards Plus is so wonderful that it should be a curriculum for all teachers to use and follow. It provides numerous examples that are teacher and kid friendly. It’s so easy to use and explain. Your company has provided lots of space for the students to show their work. It’s aligned with Common Core and is so thorough. I also like that you have a few lessons on one standard and then provide an immediate evaluation on a single sided page. It makes it so easy to find, give, and assess. Thank you for such a wonderful product. I would recommend your workbook to any teacher that is not already using it. Do you plan to have a Book 2? I would buy it in a snap!Teacher, G.W. I am a third grade teacher at G.W. Hellyer Elementary School. This school is culturally, economically, and linguistically diverse. It is comprised of at-risk students which are predominately English-language learners. When the state transitioned from the California State Standards to the Common Core State Standards, I was unsure of what my next steps would be to teach and support my students. A colleague of mine from a different school introduced me to Standards Plus the previous year (2014). Although she was a sixth grade teacher, I reviewed Standards Plus workbook and thought it was thorough and explicit to help me teach the Common Core Standards. Therefore, I asked my principal to purchase Standards Plus for our school to use this year. This is the first year that I have used the English Language Arts Standards Plus workbook to teach my third graders. I use it every morning with my students and find it helpful to teach them the Common Core State Standards. The lessons are short, yet direct and to the point. For example, the writing section teaches the students informative/explanatory, opinion, and narrative writing. It starts by teaching them how to write a paragraph. Then it shows them how to expand their writing into five paragraphs with organization and structure along with linking words and phrases. This helped many of my students during the SBAC test because they were able to internalize an outline that organized their thoughts. As a result, I believe Standards Plus helped my students achieve a higher level of understanding of the Common Core State Standards, especially in writing.
Now, I use Standards Plus to guide my instruction. When my students complete the performance task, it informs me of their misconceptions. Therefore, it guides me as to what I need to re-teach, revise, or if I can move on. Standards Plus is my core instructional supplemental resource to ensure that I teach all the Common Core State Standards. I highly recommend this workbook to teachers to help them during this rigorous instructional transition from the California State Standards to the Common Core State Standards.
